THE BEST OF THE FAUNA OF RANOMAFANA
- Varibolomena or Hapalemur aureus is a diurnal lemur. It is key species of Ranomafana National Park and we can spot them Varimbolomena circuit
- Around Henst Accipiter henstii, a bird species of prey and which is strictly forest.
- The velvety philépitte Philepitta castanea.
- Ground Rollier of Crossleyi Atelornis crossleyi.
- The very rich Ibis of Madagascar Lophotibis cristata or Akoholahinala.
- Varibolomavo or Grand Hapalemur, Prolemur simus.
THE FLORA
Ranomafana forest is classified a rain forest. Before the park creation, this forest was exploited. Today, only the parts remote from the road are still considered as of the primary forest and categorized as hard core. We find Apocynaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Rubiaceae there. The most common épiphytes is Asplenium nidus of the family of Aspleniaceae and orchids of the kinds Bulbophyllum, Angraecum, Aeranthes, Aerangis and Jumellea.

CLIMATE
RANOMAFANA N.P'S CLIMATE
The region of Ranomafana is under a tropical humid climate. The average of the temperature varies from 14 to 200C with a minimum of 2-30C and a maximum of 370C. The temperature may vary from a year to one another depending on the occurrence of tropical cyclone. The average rainfall in a year is about 4000 mm but it changes a lot from year to year. The precipitation is the most between October until March. In August, it is almost zero. The relative moisture is in the order of 90-97%.
